I started writing code because I wanted to make games and could not afford to wait for someone to let me. I never finished a computer science degree. I got the first job by showing a thing I had built, and every job after that the same way.

Thirteen years later I have worked as a senior engineer on games, backends and AI products, hired people, interviewed a lot more, and watched the same mistakes get made by every beginner: learning features instead of fundamentals, writing code nobody else can read, and having nothing to show.

In 2024 I ran a free Unity course, live, for four weeks. The recordings are the course on this site. I did not edit them because the unedited parts, the debugging and the reasoning out loud, are what I wish I had been able to watch at the start.

The mission was free education. Selling the recordings for the price of a textbook pays for the next one, and buys you the follow-along materials, subtitles and project source that make it usable as a course instead of a playlist.
